01Product Overview & Specifications
Corten B is a weathering steel (also called atmospheric corrosion resisting steel or simply Corten steel). As the iconic symbol of weathering steel, Corten B originated in North America and is now widely used for structures exposed to weather, forming a protective rust-coloured patina that resists atmospheric corrosion.
Corten B contains more alloying elements than plain carbon steel, so it is somewhat more difficult to form; however it can be moderately drawn and is easily welded with common procedures, making it suitable for bridges, railway carriages, containers, construction and heat-exchanger components.
