Although ordinary steel has basic wear resistance, its performance varies greatly. Abrasion resistant steel is a special wear-resistant structural steel customized to resist friction and surface damage, featuring high hardness, strong wear resistance and stable mechanical performance. 3.Chemical Composition & Wear Resistance Principle
The excellent wear resistance of abrasion resistant steel mainly benefits from its optimized alloy composition and heat-treated microstructure.
Carbon: The core element for hardness improvement. It blocks internal dislocation movement of steel, effectively improving the hardness and structural strength of the steel substrate. Meanwhile, carbon enables the steel to form dense high-hardness microstructure after heating and quenching, greatly enhancing surface abrasion resistance.
Alloy Elements (Chromium, Manganese): Reasonably added chromium and manganese elements further optimize steel toughness and hardness, offset the performance defects of single carbon reinforcement, and effectively reduce surface wear and impact damage, achieving long-term stable anti-abrasion performance.
