EH32 ASTM A131 MARINE STRUCTURAL STEEL Thickness: On Request

ASTM A131 EH32 is a high-strength low-temperature resistant marine structural steel grade defined in the ASTM A131 / A131M standard, which covers structural steel plates, shapes, bars and rivets mainly used in ship construction. Compared with ordinary mild steel, EH32 delivers a higher 315 MPa (46 ksi) minimum yield strength together with stable −40°C Charpy V-notch impact toughness, making it suitable for vessels and marine structures serving in cold and demanding sea conditions.

Manufactured by hot rolling with normalized or TMCP (thermo-mechanical control process) treatment, EH32 shipbuilding steel provides reliable structural strength, good weldability and consistent impact resistance. It is widely applied to hull structures, decks and offshore structural members where a verified −40°C toughness level is required by the building specification.
