EN 10083-3 42CrMo4 is a premium quenched and tempered chromium-molybdenum alloy structural steel. Compared with 34CrMo4, 42CrMo4 contains higher carbon and chromium, delivering greatly improved tensile strength, hardness and overall hardenability.

With balanced mechanical performance, 42CrMo4 withstands complex alternating loads, torsion, friction and high-pressure working conditions. It offers excellent fatigue resistance and stable low-temperature impact toughness with negligible temper brittleness, supplied as plates, round bars, flat bars, forgings and profiles.
