Production Process & Delivery State
BP300 ballistic steel is premium killed steel produced by oxygen converter or electric furnace smelting plus external refining, ensuring ultra-low impurity content and stable internal metallographic structure.
Complete Process Route: Smelting → External refining → Continuous casting → Controlled rolling & controlled cooling hot rolling → Powerful straightening & plate cutting → Professional heat treatment
Delivery State: Standard quenched + tempered (Q+T) or tempered state, ensuring uniform hardness and stable anti-ballistic performance.
Ballistic Performance Guarantee: Anti-ballistic indicators are confirmed by contract. We can provide official shooting test verification reports and real performance data compliant with Q/BQB 670-2023 standard.
Machining & Processing Suggestions
Cutting: Water jet cutting is highly recommended to fully retain original ballistic performance of cutting edges. Laser cutting and plasma cutting are also applicable. Mechanical shearing is available with sufficient equipment capacity.
Machining: Due to high surface hardness, HSS-E or HSS-Co drill bits are recommended for drilling. Cemented carbide coated tools are suitable for milling, with cutting width controlled at 75%-80% of cutter diameter.
Hot Working: Secondary hot processing is not recommended. If additional heat treatment is required, technical confirmation from Baosteel R&D team is mandatory.
