B900FD (equivalent dual brand BP300) is a classic formable ballistic steel independently developed by Baosteel, manufactured in accordance with Q/BQB 670-2023 standard. Production Process & Delivery State
B900FD ballistic steel is high-purity killed steel produced by oxygen converter or electric furnace smelting with external refining, featuring ultra-low impurity content, uniform metallographic structure and excellent comprehensive mechanical properties.
Complete Process Route: Smelting → External refining → Continuous casting → Controlled rolling & controlled cooling hot rolling → Powerful straightening & plate cutting → Professional heat treatment
Delivery State: Standard quenched + tempered (Q+T) or tempered state; as-rolled state is also available to meet different processing and protection demands.
Ballistic Performance Guarantee: Anti-ballistic indicators are confirmed by contract. We provide official shooting test verification reports and authentic ballistic performance data compliant with Q/BQB 670-2023 standard.
Machining & Processing Suggestions
Cutting: Water jet cutting is highly recommended to fully retain the original ballistic performance of cutting edges. Laser cutting and plasma cutting are applicable. Mechanical shearing is available with sufficient equipment capacity.
Machining: HSS-E / HSS-Co high-performance drill bits are recommended for drilling operations. For milling, cemented carbide coated tools are preferred, with cutting width controlled at 75%–80% of the milling cutter diameter for optimal efficiency and surface quality.
Hot Working: Secondary hot processing is not recommended. If special heat treatment adjustment is required, technical confirmation with Baosteel R&D team is mandatory.
