API 5L PSL1 X65 line pipe is a high-strength carbon steel pipeline product for conventional oil, gas and water transmission in the petrochemical industry. It belongs to the mainstream high-strength grade of the API 5L pipeline steel standard, covering conventional grades A25, A, B and X series grades X42, X46, X52, X56, X60, X65, X70, X80. The two-digit number following the "X" represents the minimum yield strength (in thousands of psi) of the pipe grade. The minimum yield strength of API 5L PSL1 X65 pipes is 65000 psi. Compared with PSL2 grade, PSL1 X65 adopts conventional inspection standards, with stable performance and cost-effective advantages, which is suitable for conventional medium and low-pressure oil and gas pipeline transmission projects.

API 5L PSL1 X65 line pipes can be delivered in as-rolled (R), normalizing rolled, normalized formed, normalized or normalized and tempered (N), quenched and tempered (Q), thermomechanical rolled, or thermomechanical formed(M). Conventional rolling and normalizing processes are commonly used for PSL1 X65 to meet the service requirements of general industrial pipeline projects.

API 5L PSL1 X65 steel pipe is available in seamless pipe and welded pipe, widely used for conventional medium-pressure oil and gas pipeline transportation systems in petroleum and petrochemical industries. Different from PSL2 grade, PSL1 X65 does not require mandatory impact test, with moderate performance and higher cost performance. It is widely applicable for onshore conventional oil and gas transmission pipelines, municipal engineering fluid pipelines and general industrial supporting pipeline facilities.
